Question Where is the Ignition Harness wiring\ best access point?

Hello,

I am installing aftermarket alarm in my 2003 350Z, and the manual says a blue\white wire needed for the +12V alarm brain constant is in the "ignition harness".
There is another wire in that ignition harness or two that I also need (Horn and ignition).

I started looking around inside the steering column and saw no such color of wire, noticed that there are two thick looms of wire running into the steering column, and assume that it is one of these bundles?

I have two DMV's, but before I start poking at all the blue\white wires in that area, maybe somebody could help me out with a picture or a better description. Once I find the right one, the others should be very close I believe.

Also, any recommendations for places to get through the firewall to mount the siren would be appreciated!!!

Thanks in advance.

George

Hey George,

I haven't installed an aftermarket alarm system (too much of a pain) but I know that you can access the ignition harness by just popping the lower panel off of the steering column. Was that what you were asking?

Good luck with the install!

Wink A place to look at for ignition wiring....

Thanks,
Yeah, I took off the plastic covering around the steering column, but it did not want to come off all the way, so, I am going to check out location E119 (see schematic) tonight with multimeter to see if there is a blue\white wire there and the green\black wire for horn.
.
Most of my other alarm connections look like they will be made at the BCM and the two wires in the door for lock\unlock, then routing through the firewall for the siren.
