Yesterday when i connected my new iphone to my head unit(alphine) it said this united not compatible with the unit and i may get bad audio in so many words. My question is how do i update the firmware or w.e the thing has so that it will work completely?
I know this maybe a easy question (and my alphine a single din not the screen!) what can i do to update? i had the same thing with my old 3g but not what i just said though.

Yes, the firmware of the HU has to be updated to ensure compatibility. When new iPhone software and hardware are released, it usually take a few months before the HU manufacturers develope software/firmware updates for their products.

OK this is kinda making me upset. I clicked on the link and i scroll down to were i think is my head unit number, when you type cda you get a pull down. Well when i click on the one i think it says there nothing. So after trying that one i decided to try another one for the hell of it and same thing happens to that. So any advice on that one?
Another solution that is available for you is purchasing something like this. I am assuming that you connect your iphone to your HU via an ipod cable. If this is the case, just connect this dongle to the ipod cable of your HU, and you can play music via bluetooth streaming. The only downside is you cannot control your iphone/ipod through the HU. Hope this helps!

Well until a firmware update is available, it might just be your best bet. Or you could use your iPod for now (if you have one). I've been streaming audio through a Bluetooth adapter since I had my 3GS. I was just too lazy to update the firmware. I charge my phone through a regular car charger.
