Default USB Drive Mounting!!!!

Ok, I have searched the site over and came to the conclusion that most people mount it in the cubby above the radio. But they say that they drill a small hole. Thats what I'm having trouble with, as it would have to a 1/2 or so hole to get the end of the usb cable from the radio to go through it. Pics of others install would be great, same goes for any info you all could give me. Thanks

You could use a micro USB cable and some adaptors. That would necessitate a smaller hole.

On the other hand, I have factory nav, and ran my iPod and USB cables into the center console. The holes are hidden by the cupholder, and it's a nice padded area for my iPod.

If it’s the size (diameter) of the hole you need to drill that bothers you, consider using a cable with a mini-USB connector. The mini –connector is only slightly larger than the cable and allows you to drill a small hole (much smaller than a ½” hole).

Run the cable and it’s mini-adapter through the hole, and then connect an adapter that accommodates whatever size USB connector you need for your device.

I ran a long USB cable (extension, whatever you want to call it) to my center console... I want it within arm's reach forget about that cubby :P Drilled a hole in the rocker panel there installed the female end there... can plug my flash drive etc right in. Other option would be the center console that is enclosed... can run your USB cord right down from the H/U through the gear shift and right in there.

Was thinking bout running it through there. But actually came across the thread where the guy installed it by the TCS button. I orderd one of the adaptors, so I'm gonna wait till it gets here and then go from there.

That's not a bad idea. Also they sell a little clip for the back of the plastic trim where you want to mount it to so it holds the female end just right. Usually comes with the HU but you can buy separately.
