Mounting amp under/behind glove box?
Has anyone mounted an amp (say 4X50) under or behind the stock glovebox (behind passenger).
I would like to keep the glove box (since this is a roadster and it barely has any cargo room to start with.
I could have sworn someone did this, but I can't find it in a search.
If you have seen this done or done it yourself can you post some info or even pics?
I know the glovebox comes out easily. I am just wondering how much space is back there under/behind it.
What size amp will fit?
How much room is there?

Look at my thread here about amps in the stock sub location. There is a really nice one in there that used some 3/8" wood and some 1/2" aluminum rails.

Ooops my bad, I think you're talking about a different area than that.

you can mount it there. Theres about 1.5" - 2" clearance. BUT you gonna lose the secret storage bin. What I did was mount it behind the glove box, at an angle. You'll never see it if you lift the secret storage bin up and makes it extra hard for thieves to steal it. (but makes it hard to adjust gain or change fuses).

I am hoping that once it is dialed in I never need to see it again. I am not running a ton of power or anything exotic, so fuse changes should be 0 once the installation is done.
You don't have any pics of mounting it behind the glove box do tou?
Or maybe an estimate of how much room is there?
What size amp did you fit behind the box?
Thanks inadvance.

i might be able to take a pic this weekend. it's a mtx thunder 5 ch amp, not sure bout the size (10x14x3, guessing)
I wanted to mount it under the glove box, but with the secret compart in, there's only about 1.5" - 2" of space.
