Here's what I did in my '08:

The box is ~18.5" x 12.5" x 6.5", the sub is a JL 10", and the amp is a JL 250.1

I don't know what the rest of your system is, and I'm not sure something like this could be adapted to the OEM setup and result in good sound.

The rest of the system includes a Kenwood receiver, Boston 6.5" component speakers all in the stock mounts, and another JL amp for those speakers. The bass won't rattle the license plate or rear voew mirror, but it sounds like you're looking for the same thing I was.

Depends on the music you listen to, I have 2 10" RF subs n a zen enclosure and the sound is very nice, though I can really make the car bump when necessary. I say go with twins, you can always turn the bass down.

I went with a single sub high quality components and a solid amp. Its more than loud enough for me and clear, rich sound. But I listen to mostly new and old school rock so I wasn't looking to make the houses vibrate as I drove by

Single 10 is just fine unless you stuck in the 90's and love Ghetto thumping.

Anything in your guy's car rattle now because of the bass? Like when the bass is off anything loose?

Not unless you mount it in a proper box. Free-air setups sound like crap (I.e. Bose).

+1

Just get a zenclosure single 10" box and call it a day.

It will sound fine.

I've not had any experience with the R subs. I had the components and hated them though.

it vibrates everything, but nothing rattles. Especially my trunk, i cant stand it when people go around rattling their effing hyundai trunk. I would say you would want a MINIMUM 750 watts for your car. I wish i had a bigger amp for mine. The type r will take 750 easily.

I payed 119.99 for my 10w3,doesnt really seem over priced and sounded as good as anything within 100 bucks of it. But I listen to rock and I am not looking for a silly amount of base. I liked their components as well but thought the Hertz and a richer sound for the money.
