apparently you didnt read my friend.... I no longer have alpine type-r in the front but boston speakers which from what i have seen dont have a visible db changer for the tweeter.... So maybe you should think 2x before commenting on someone with more post than the likes of you.

I understood your entire question, just going back before Google'ing for you, I had to recall the specific brand of equipment you had installed. I unfortunately did not take the time to re-read your entire question before doing your work for you.
It doesn't really matter what brand they are, the same principle applies. You know that you can adjust the gain on the external crossovers and if you can't figure out how to do so on a specific brand; just find the manual.
Sometimes the helpful advice others try to share with you can only extend so far before you have to take some type of initiative to help yourself, my friend.
And when you'd rather just bump a thread 100x instead of drinking from the water we've all led you directly to, you ruin the fun those more intelligent and experienced than yourself have when they help others not so privileged.
So with that being said, hopefully you don't continue to increase your post count with an infinite number of bumps and help yourself on this one by finding the manual that came with your Boston Acoustic component speakers and reading how to adjust the db output for your tweeters.
Good luck and happy listening!
