Default HU/SUBS install trouble on z with oem bose

Hey so I'm having some trouble with a Sony head unit install. I have an '03 Touring which came with the stock bose system. I installed the subs/amp/wiring kit, then I proceeded to install the Sony head unit. I picked up a wire harness at the local car audio store and had at it. After checking and double checking all the connections, the cd player turns on, but no speaker output. The subs turn on, and hit so I don't think it's the cd player. I just unplugged/took out the stock bose sub because, well, it's a piece of **** and I didn't want any unwanted noise coming from it. Is there some sort of bose amp somewhere that's preventing my door/rear speakers from playing? If so, where is it and how do I bypass it? Can I just buy aftermarket speakers to fix the issue? If not, I'm lost...any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

over 400 views and no one has even an idea? I really don't want to take it to a car audio place in pieces and have them finish it...

Just double check the wiring, I doubt the bose wiring would be any different.

Also, it could be the headunit itself.

yeah, i've checked the wiring for hours, the head unit has <10 hours of use on it so i'm pretty stumped. i've just read on here about different bose components causing odd issues and was hoping someone's put a head unit in a z with bose and ran into the same problem i have...i'm taking the car to a car audio place in a couple hours if nothing turns up. can't have my car in pieces for much longer...
