Aftermarket Head Unit with non-bose system
Hey guys, I'm about to be a 350z owner pretty soon. The car I'm looking to buy has the non-bose sound system installed. I did a little research and saw how kenwood or pioneer and other brands double din can easily be used instead of the stock one. Now my confusion is, will I be able to use a Pioneer head unit with stock speakers? I'm guessing if the system is non-bose in my car it will not have a subwoofer? I'm not trying to spend a lot of money here since the z will be costing me a decent amount. Also, will the sound quality be better?
what alternatives would you suggest?

Stock speakers will certainly work but you won't be getting all of the benefits of the upgraded HU - stock speakers are pretty lame. FYI - a fair number of used HU's in the classifieds. Some folks have gone with stock HU and then amps and speaker upgrades - whatever your budget allows I guess.
and yes, the HU produces better sound. it gives you more control over how sound is directed to each speaker. also, you dont even need a double din. I pu a single din in mine and acquired a nifty little storage area that **** doesnt fly out of when you get a little frisky on the go-fast pedal.

I'd just save up and do a double DIN, component speakers, 4 ch. amp, 12" sub w/ amp and call it a day.
You can do all the speakers now, and the double DIN later. If you have absolutely no desire to watch movies in the car, then just get a single DIN.
