Default Pioneer AppRadio sph-dh01

What are your thoughts?

For the price it beats out NAV units for sure. But the lack of Multiple RCA outputs and it's seemingly poor reviews I am very skeptical. I was excited when I heard about it but after further research I don't know. Maybe I'll wait for the next model to come out instead of getting the Avic 130BT I was considering.

Anyway what are your thoughts on the product.

My main concern is the lack of outputs. I could put up with the slower switching screen the iPhone alone is not that fast so it's to be expected that the radio would do the same.

If it had more outputs I would be all over it. But the wait is on. I a
Excited about the idea and to see where it goes.

Imagine tuning the car from the head unit. Could be possible in this direction.

More guage displays like with a PLX kiwi or something?

I have the PLX kiwi and ill tell you right now, wifi display of gauges is pretty useless unless your data logging. Its SUPER laggy and isnt going to do you any good per se.

The only thing i use my PLX kiwi with the iphone apps for is scanning and clearing codes on on the ECU lol...

hmm that Mimics system is pretty cool. I can't find any info on the pre-amp outputs or if there even are any. That is my main concern with these systems.

I believe you have to use a 4-chan amp... I'm not too sure... I would be ok with even one set, as I will be using an EQ...

Default ill let you know soon what it looks and works like

I just bought the appradio, focal components, infinity reference for rears, 4 channel kenwood amp and the basslink sub by infinity. I should have everything installed this sunday if it goes well. I was interested in the HU since it will keep the Z looking clean. Ill post pictures when I get it, just hope the delay isn't too bad.

Couple months ago I heard about this so I held off on buyin a new stereo, Then they released the stats, saw it only had one output... So then I

bought the avh-43000. Not one complaint & easy to bypass. Listen to pandora constantly.

So you would have to have an amp for that. So yea audio would be a pain in the butt either way.

iPhone dock to screen. iPhone 3.5 to rca to amp.

Don't like the idea of having to have both ends of your phone plugged into. If they come out with some way to have the dock connector do audio to amp and video to tv it would be perfect. They might make something for that but doesn't seem like it would come with that based on the video.

Unit w/screen $530
4channel amp $150
various adapters and cords $100 (at least)
being able to use a 7" iphone priceless jk

But that is alot of money to have a screen with no audio control or volume control imo. Cool for a carshow queen I bet. Just feel it will get annoying on a daily driver.

Default half way there

Well I almost have the entire set up done and somethings just didn't go according to plan. I still need to install the focals in the doors but the rears are in and so is the sub. We are currently using the stock amp to run everything except the sub and it sounds good so far. This is not meant for competition so I am satisfied. As far as the Appradio HU so far while it is sluggish at times it is nice that its so clean plus I saw the they are already doing some jailbreaks so it works a little better. I need to lower the picture res to upload will post soon
