Default Sigh... Metra Dash Kit...

so i bought the metra 06-08 350z dash combo kit.. comes with the dash kit, trim kit, and wiring harness... finally got it in the mail today.. and the trim kit doesn't fit around my double din 7" HU?? sigh wtf... isn't that the whole point of the "double din" trim kit??

Mark how far back you need to trim then dremel, sand and clearcoat that part??

yeah i just cut the kit to fit, came out very clean looking. my service engine light came on after installing the head unit tho =/ not sure whats going on there.

Maybe a crossed wire somehow? I don't have experience with audio installs ;/

yeah im not sure, im pretty busy atm so i dont have time to pull it back apart and double check everything but next weekend ill finally have a couple days off of work. i posted another thread so i hope someone will reply in it. :O

i installed my 7" pioneer HU last week without the metra dash kit (still waiting for it to arrive). i hope i don't have to do any cutting like you did. also, my CEL came on as well i got it cleared with an OBD scanner.

yeah mine is cleared too, and u might be ok with a pioneer HU, hope so anyways, if not u could heat up a utility knife (razorblade) and it would probably be the easiest way to cut it if u dont have a dremel tool.
