Default Opinion on Touring Stock Sub?

Touring trims come with Bose sound system.
This system comes with 10" subwoofer.
What's your opinion on this stock sound system?

Search. It is so underwhelming. Just awful. Half the time it cuts out half the time it sounds like crap. Get a non-bose car if at all possible. That way you can at least re-use some of the speaker wiring when you rip out the stock stuff and replace it. It's levels cannot be adjusted and if youve seen the amp youll know that most computer soundcards are actually bigger. Combined with the awful bose head unit it is just a terrible combination. The first thing I did on the 2nd day I had my Z was to remove the bose head unit. Removing the rest of the crap will come this spring.

Just a heads up. I have Touring with "Premiun Boom Boom Bose". As I write I have everything ripped apart. Everything "Bose" related including the Speaker wires.
Ready to move on

can't really compare to aftermarket setup. however it will do fine temporarily for the time being if you plan on upgrading other things first.

I'm not exactly an audiophile, but I am going to say having the Z with Bose sub is better than my last car, which didn't have any factory subs. But do upgrade if you can.

The Bose stereo is no where near as bad as everyone says mine has never cut out and it's really clear. I don't buy a car based on stereo equipment tho and it's something I would never spend money on.

I think the real problem is the stupid microphone. The BOSE system uses a mic under the steering column to "adjust" the system. The result is the sound is all over the place! It is a real mess: one minute its loud, next minute its too soft, then too much bass, then not enough. Here is a possible fix: https://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-v...-bose-fix.html

My wife's Volvo C30 has a vehicle speed sensitive radio and it works great, mostly because you can turn the effect way down. However the one in the 350Z is HORRIBLE. Like everyone else I'll be ripping out all the BOSE crap and putting a real audio system in. I've done this in every car I've owned, since all stock audio sucks once you know what good audio really sounds like, but the one in the Z is without a doubt the crappiest I have experienced.

Anything would be an improvement. However are you planning on just sticking the Alpine 10" in the BOSE 10"s place? I wouldn't recommend that unless you putting the Alpine in a recommended enclosure. Also if your still using the stock head unit then I would assume the signal to the amp would be a mess.
