Default A little help with my setup please!

Ok so i Currently have installed in my 08 350z is
Head-unit: Kenwood DNX 7140
Front speakers: Focal 165 KR2 components
Amp: JL audio 300/4 v1 slash series (hooked up to the focals)
Sub: JL Audio 13TW5 (not installed yet)
...

so what i want to do is change the amp to the focals to a Zapco DC reference amp either the 350/2 or the 360/4.. dunno which one i want because I'm not sure what to do with the rear speakers to have them or not.... and i am getting the zapco DC reference 500/1 amp for the jl 13tw5.

what else would you recommend as far as capacitors, etc... i was thinking about the zapco dc reference pre amp?? not too sure what else... i would love everyones feedback... thank you very much

- Anthony

Everyone says rear speakers aren't worth it in the Z, so i didn't bother. Don't regret it as long as you have solid components which it looks like u do. IMO, i wouldn't get a cap unless you are running serious power. Im pushing over 1500RMS and I don't see the need for one. I do, however, have a yellow top & would recommend upgrading the battery ground wire asap.

pretty sure the optima yellow top D35 will fit.. I bought mine off amazon for like 165 shipped.. For the ground wire i bought a generic battery terminal like below and used some extra 0/1 gauge wire laying around..Also one 0/1 gauge ring terminal to screw the wire to the chasis

http://www.amazon.com/METRA-GBT3P-Go...3141977&sr=8-7

Sorry i know nothing about that zapco pre amp

thnx for the input... I'm still debating about the rear speakers though and if i should get a 4 channel for the tweeters and the rear coax, and a 2 channel for the mids or what... lol wish deciding was easier!

well i was looking at using the Zapco DRC- SL controller unit. i wanted the pre amp as well the Zapco SP4-SL. i don't know if that will work as i have no knowledge of the pre amp stuff but I'm assuming it will i would have to ask around.

and for the components should i get a 4 channel or a 2 channel? assuming I'm not running rear speaker? for the 2 channel i was think the Zapco DC reference 350/2....

Rear speakers are OK. They are not necessary, but they do provide some nice fill sound in the Z.

If you keep the rear speakers, you can connect them directly to your H/U’s line outs, so that takes your external amp out of the mix for rear speakers.

I typically go with a 4 channel amplifier for general use since worst case you end up with two unused channels. You can always combine unused channels to drive a SubW.

I do like having an distinct amp to drive the SubW(s).

Hope this is helpful.

i just purchased a Zapco Dc reference 500.1 amp for my subW so I'm not worried about that part of combining the 2 unused channels. i would just save a lot of money if i got the 350.2 instead of a 360.4 you know?
thank you guys for your inputs it is greatly appreciated
