Default My audio question

Hey guys i have a question in how to wire a second amp. At the moment i have a 4 channel (jbl14001) powering 2 10" mtx jackhammers. The wire is a 4 guage thats powering the amp. Now the question is how would i put my new amp (jbl gto mono amp i think 700) to the subs and use the other one for my speakers which are also jbl 2ways. Do i need to run another wire from the battery and how do i connect them both with the rca cable. Also is do i connect the second amps remote wire and should i get a capacitator.

I am not an audio guru but can be of a "little" help because I am in the middle of an audio project myself. I am not sure about the power of your subs but you have these choices.
Get yourself a distribution block and install it somewhere like in one of your rear cubbys.
Connect the 4 gauge wire you have now to it. Then run two 8 gauge wires from it (one for each amp). This depends on the power of the amps and whether you can use 8 gauge wires.
If not then ran a new 1/0 gauge wire to a distribution block. (you will remove the present 4 gauge). Then run two 4 gauge wires from the block (one each for the amps).
The second amp will need a remote wire too. You can tap into the same remote wire for the first amp

"Distribution" block not distibution. Better to google it for pics and uses. It accepts inward wire and has outlets for smaller wires. Like 4 gauge in and two 8 gauge out. If you have already purchased another 4 gauge wire, you can ran that the same way as the other to the second amp. It is more hassle and not a popular way. I bought two 4 gauge amp kits too but decided to go the "distro" block direction. More convenient in my oppinion

This might explain it better.

Sometimes audio questions can be confusing because you are asking members to visualize what you have. Often a simple pencil diagram is helpful.
