Default Help with wiring!!

I just purchased my alpine ina w910 indash, and i got the pac tr-7 so i can bypass the whole (must be parked to watch video) deal , BUT i cant seem to find the hand brake wire so i can hook that up.
Do i really need to take apart the whole center piece to get to the wire?

Just ground it out, that way you can play video all the time. Or, if you must, I believe it's the purple wire under the center console. It's easy to take apart. Search.

Don't ever buy a bypass . You can either make your own with a relay , or even easier just ground one side of a 12v switch , the other side goes to the parking brake wire on the deck .

I simply grounded that wire for my JVC hookup and it works fine. Not that I would ever watch video while driving...just didn't want to tear things apart to connect it properly.

some decks, namely alpine, require multiple pulses, the PAC unit is just easier. Its , what, twice the cost of a bosch spdt relay maybe on ebay?

I used one, i groundedz it, i watches the vidoez while i drive thru school zones.

It has a wire for ground and i hooked it up, and the red with 12v accesory and that is on, but then i think its a green wire that needs to go with the hand brake wire. and your saying i can also ground that wire along with the already default ground wire??

You grounded the wire that goes to the hand brake wire?

Nope. Three people told you to do that, but that's not what your supposed to do.

it makes since if you don't think about it

Some decks will work just by grounding the green wire (along with the regular ground black wire ). Some decks need a pulse , thats why you use a switch . Ground one side of the switch , hook green wire from deck to the other side . When the deck tells you you cant watch video while driving , simply flip switch on then off and wallah you have video . Some newer decks need multible pulses meaning you might have to flip the switch on and off 1 1/2 to 2 times . Or you can go the more expensive route and buy a bypass or relay to do the pulses for you .

Google your model of head unit with the word "hack" and solutions will be at your fingertips. And yes, on my HU I simply grounded the green wire but that apparently does not work for all units. Worth a try though....

Alpines are a PITA compared to others. Alpines usually require input from the handbrake AND foot brake.

You don't need to use the handbrake wire. You can use a toggle switch. Just run 1 side to ground, and the other side to the PAC unit. Personally, I'd go that route.
