Default Going back to BOSE

So after purchasing my car over a month ago, realizing it had an aftermarket system already installed, I immediately wanted to go back to stock OEM BOSE Headunit and subwoofer, and components. Is there a site that sells the OEM Sub, and Rear Speakers? Mine were replaced by "Earthquake" speakers and sub. I dont like it at all LOL. Dont know what the previous owner was thinking. It has 2-10" Kicker CVT's, 2 Amps, an equalizer, and a Double Din Headunit. Took it all out nontheless LOL. I have a OEM Headunit I might be picking up this Sunday, but where can I get the rear BOSE Speakers, and BOSE Sub? I tried Craigslist already, and nobody on here is selling them either. Well that I can tell at least. Please Help Me!!

have you ever tried the stock system tho? i'd advise against it. yeah it's bose but its not what you'd expect. your money and the proceeds from selling your current setup could be better spent on a quality aftermarket system. either way check ebay and kijiji.

Everyone wants more thumpin and bumpin nowadays. I want stock because I could care less if the highs are loud, or bass rattles my nuts. I could care less about that non-sense. I want stock so I have something decent to cruise to. Thats it. Point Blank. This is not a 'opinion on the BOSE system thread'. Its a thread asking where I can buy the factory BOSE Subwoofer and BOSE rear speakers. End of story

I said decent meaning stock. Ive heard BOSE stock systems and its fine for me. Between my ipod/iphone aux connection into the oem bose headunit, plus a 6-CD changer....its decent enough. Im not trying to impress anyone.

I believe it has to do with what vehicle the bose sound system is in. I have it in my SUV and I've heard it in a Z and there is no comparison. The bose in the Z definitely sucks.

Possibly. My 2009 Murano has BOSE and it sounds way better than my 2003 Z. But, it's 6 years difference in technology as well. I also read the label on the Z headunit and it has the Clarion name on it, which explains a lot imo.

OP, search the Marketplace on here and just keep searching on ebay. You'll be bound to find something at some point.

At least get an aftermarket Head Unit. The OEM disc player would crap out on you after a while.

If you're dead set on getting Bose again save yourself some trouble up front. Look up the speaker cut out issue and if you have the skill or know someone who has the skill hard wire the CD unit and the Bose head unit together. If not the ribbon cable will wear out if it hasn't already. You may reseat the cable and be fine for a while but they don't last all that long and it's a pain to pull the head unit every time it happens.

There's also a fix here for the sub amp issue where it cuts out. I know you don't want a lot of base (which means the Bose sub will be perfect) but it does help fill in the audio.

Overall the Bose is weak, but decent enough if you don't care much about audio quality. Though I agree with everyone else that the quality is poor, it's more the actual hardware issues that killed the Bose system for me. Find both the articles and do the fixes ahead of time and you'll at least have a "dependable" bose system.

Too bad this post didn't hit a month or 2 ago...I replaced all my Bose components and THREW AWAY all the crap speakers/baby sub. I would have given them to you for the price of shipping. Good luck...maybe someone has some laying around still from their upgrade?

So you're looking to seriously downgrade your audio components, and when people advise against it you get angry? Well... In that case, take the car to the dealer. I'm sure they can get all the stock Bose junk for you.

If you're not into a lot of bass, then just downgrade the sub or adjust the amp and EQ to get less bass. Spending money to end up with crappier sound quality makes no sense when you can more than likely use what you have to get the sound you want.

My Classical and R&B music sound pretty decent with the stock Bose unit. I guess it depends on the type of music you listen to.

If you can get the OEM Bose components for your Z car and not pay anything for the equipment(and this is a possibility because the stuff sounds so bad people do give it away), and then install it yourself; you will have a system delivering low quality sound, but at least you didn’t pay anything for it.
