Proud new 08' 350z owner here! New to these forums as well! One thing I've noticed about my Z is that the factory head unit is lacking.

I would like to buy a new one, but I don't want to through off my Z's orange lighting color-scheme.

Are there any good head units that anyone can suggest that have an orange color scheme that is under $500?

Any help would be vastly appreciated!! Thanks!

 

My Pioneer (I think AVH2300-DVD) has a custom color option you can do. I rolled through the spectrum they had until I got one to match up pretty damn well with the orange throughout the car.

 

my pioneer avh-4300 matches pretty close, and i really like it. probably any headunit that has the custom color option you could get something to match pretty closely

 

my kenwood ddx 418 will color match to the orange.
i believe the ddx 318 will also.
that was almost a year ago when i bought the 418 though so i'm not sure exactly how hard those models are to find.

 

Or you can change the color scheme of the z

 

As said above, lots of pioneer models have customizable color scheme. I have the AVH-P4300DVD. I have the color set almost exactly as the Z. You have to be critical to notice any difference. A very good HU overall.

 

most video 2din decks allow back ground color changes and overall color theme changes.
My Alpine ive w550
has only one small stand out blue button, otherwise i changed the entire theme to orange amber and have a matching real cf image background.. pretty cool.

 

Pioneer AVH-3300BT

 

I have a Clarion CX501 that mimics the orange and also has the silver accents of the Z interior. I think it was around $200-250 from Crutchfield. Has bluetooth etc as well.

My Clarion single-din H/U has an orange/amber selection that exactly matches the Z's color scheme. --Spike
