Default Spilled Coke on car stereo

A few months ago my ex spilled coke in my z. It turns on and the buttons work, I can switch from AM/FM to CD etc. There just isn't any sound coming out of the speakers. Did it ruin the whole stereo? Or is there some way I can fix it?

Well… crap…

If the spill was a sugar-based pop…. There is no fix. You need to replace EVERTHING.

This is why no drinks or food is allowed in my Z. If I am ever picking up food or anything I take my Sentra. Leave it to women to do something stupid like spill drinks in the car.

Please tell us the story on how it happened.

listen, i know shes your ex.. and thats probably a good thing.

Careless women who spill coke everywhere are NOT rad.
Its all fun n games when its in your car.. sorry, but youre still adults..you still ahve a choice..

but what happens when that spilled coke gets near the hands and mouths of young children.. ?!

oh God.. waht about the family pets? ! They trust you to keep them safe and love them.. and she just steamrolls your dreams of a young new family ...and turns them into this:

^ this cat is awn fire. Look at his huge pupils lol..
Hell do it all til its gawn.
He wont sleep til the other cats stop answering the phones and he knows he cant get anymore.
This cat couldhave had a different life if someone stepped in and gave hmi the tuff love he needed... or kept wild lose women out of thier Z in the first place.

Look, nows your chance to find a classy broad who comes from a better family and knows how to hold her drugs and scotch.

lolz for the day.

PS, as a side note, id like to mention that the google image search results for the term "spilled cocaine" is pretty wild.. and yes, page 1 does have early Sheen pics AND Paris Hilton lol.

lmao why did you assume it's a woman that spilled it... I'm a female.. I usually never let anyone drink, eat, or drive my car but the one time I let him bring a drink in the car he doesn't screw the cap on and it spills everywhere when I took a fast turn. I drive like a crazzyy.. but I'm good at it . I'm not your typical woman driver. I thought he would be smart enough to screw the top on all the way when he's not drinking it but I guess not.

Anyways, I guess I'll look at aftermarket ones.. thanks.

Aftermarket head units are superior to OEM in almost everyway. Go to crutchfield (website) and take a look. You can purchase everything that is needed. They also come with installation instructions. I was able to add a head unit with USB or 3.5 auxiliary in, Bluetooth' and Mp3 playback and a new cubby spot for 2xx.00 three years ago.

The install was about 3 or 4 hours including drink breaks.

Did it spill on it, or into it? When I got my Z the PO had evidently lost control of some kind of dark soda which spilled on the radio and AC controls. The result was sticky controls that didn't want to work. It could be that some of your buttons are just sticking and causing the radio to seize up. I disassembled everything, took apart the faceplate and buttons, cleaned out the goo, and it all works nicely now.

But, if you spilled it inside the radio and shorted something, that's a different matter.
