Question System Install Question

Hello everyone. Tomorrow morning I am installing a 12" kicker cvx into my 04 z at car audio heaven. Knowing how they have the unusual trunk space, they are going to custom make me a box. $150 non ported or $225 ported. Im wondering as to which is better for that exact sub. Would you go with ported or non ported? And also is this a good price for a custom sub to be made? I've done a little research for them on ebay and stuff but would like a few other opinions.

Depends on the sound you want/ music you listen to. Ported boxes are better for hip-hop/rap type music. non ported boxes are a bit quicker when they hit than ported boxes which makes them better for faster hitting bass like rock. And i know you can buy boxes that are made for z's.. idk how much or anything but yeah ive seen em

(therefore you shouldn't pay extra for custom work unless you want something unique)

Zenclosures are around that same price. All prefab boxes are meh....Youd be better off building one to exact dimensions according to what the specs for the sub are.

Ported, because that kicker isn't going to satisfy your sound needs for long. I had it for about 6 months and upgraded to a Mojo 12.
