Default Anybody have Issues With GPS Antenna Placement on Dash in Sun?

I finally wired up my Pioneer Avic head unit and routed the GPS and bluetooth mic up, after searching around (and being in a time crunch) I decided to run the GPS antenna up so it sits on the dash right behind the 3-Gauge cluster. Connects to satellites great and all that, I'm happy with it for now.

But I am wondering what will happen in the summertime when it sits up on that dash in a parking lot for a few hours on a ~100 degree day? Has anyone experienced any problems with it being in direct sunlight like this? Seems like most people put it up there but still

And if you don't recommend it up there [in the Southern summers] where are some good spots? I saw one guy made a little cut out in the dash and hid it it the same place but under some plastic. Another thought I had was to stick it in/under the center console, but not sure how reception would be in there.

My satellite antenna is on the rear strut and gets a lot of sun as well as high temperatures during the summer months (many at 90+ last summer).

It’s been in place for 9 years and works great.

No problem running mine on the dashboard......all the way up by the defroster vents here in sunny Florida.

On my 350 I ran it under the dash, same as the factory setup. No problems

Thanks guys, if its fine in Florida it sure as heck should be fine up here.

122554... I'm not sure where the factory setup goes...? Is the antenna just stuffed up inside the dash behind the cubby hole? May try that if it still gets reception, just cleaner. I've gotta go back in to connect my bluetooth mic anyway

Right behing the triple gauges you'll see two vertical supports. That the place!

I put mine under the gauges on the outside of the cubby, no issues.
