OEM radio faceplate color

This is an odd question, but my OEM radio (non-bose) from my 2003 base has a dark grey face plate. Are all the non-bose faceplates that color from 03-05 or are some of them black?

Just '03 came in grey IIRC. Every other year was black.

The waterfall around the radio still stayed the same grey though right?

Yeah. The waterfall, stereo and shifter console are grey.
