Just ordered the rest of my sound system
So I just ordered the rest of my sound system for my 06 Enthusiast. I got a brand new double-din bluetooth and iPod integrated headunit, steering wheel adapter, and custom dual 10" subwoofer enclosure for the grand total of $268. Add into that my Viper d600.1 which I picked up for $45 from a guy who didn't know how valuable it was a few months ago (it kills) and two MTX SVC 4Ohm 150-200WRMS subs, since the d600.1 is a mono wired parallel internally I'll have them both down to 2Ohms taking roughly 200W apiece. I already have JBL components in my rear pods and up front so I am way too excited to get this up and running. I put an amazing system in my Grand Cherokee before I sold it to buy the Z and I've been waiting to do this when it got warmer for so long...
So in total my system will be:
Boss BV9567BI Head Unit
Soundstorm SSL F400.4 for midrange and tweeters
Viper D600.1 for subwoofers
Four JBL Components for midrange
Two MTX Road Thunder 10" Subwoofers
Q-Power custom 350z dual 10" enclosure
Before you laugh at the Boss and SSL choices, I used Boss amps in my previous build and the SQ was beyond crisp and hit all the right lows and highs with amazing customer support, plus I know a guy with the previous version of that head unit and I really like it; it compares favorably to my old Kenwood DDX. Also, the SSL is a great amp, I got it to use originally as a cheap surround sound amp for my home theatre in my bedroom and I got a second one to put in my Grand Cherokee after I realized how good it sounded in my room. I definitely recommend the SSL to anyone looking to power their midrange speakers or even a couple of woofers at low wattage. It has four channels 1+2 can be set to High Pass or Full Range with adjustable gain and 3+4 can be set to Low Pass or Full Range with adjustable gain as well.
What do you guys think? I'm considering modifying my 06 cubby for a GPS or LCD as well but I'm nervous considering most people here haven't done as much to an 06 cubby as they have to the 03s.
