Default aux with no head unit?

hey hey, i have been wanting to do this, but im not a stereo guy at all...

i basically want to pull out my stock 05 touring stereo system, hook up 2-4 speakers, and just use my phone/ipod/aux cord for the music source.

im guessing a amp with a aux hook up on it would do the trick, or is there more to it?

thanks!

What exactly are you going to fill the gaping hole in your dash that you're going to leave with?

Might want to check out this thread:

That's what I was getting at. It gives you what you want without gutting the car.

But if you want to leave a gaping ugly hole in your dash of your car for the sake of it being a track car, go for it. Seems like the A-pillar would be a better place for gauges, but that's just me. You can probably find an amp that will run aux and just plug it right up. I hope whatever you're using as a source has some decent signal processing/equalization.

oh i want the most ugle hole you can imagine, i might cut the hole larger with a saw zaw.

but back on the important thing/the only thing i care about. just a amp with a aux connection will do what i want, just put the amp on a switch basically.

maybe someone else
