Kenwood DDX470. Love mine, as do other guys here, and it's probably the best value out there right now. Lots of great features and flexibility for adding external amps, and it integrates very well with iPhone apps like Pandora, SiriusXM, navigation, etc., (if that's what you happen to have).

I just swapped my JVC KW-NX7000 out for a Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS. I love the Pioneer. The JVC was a pile of crap.
I like Kenwood single din's but I couldn't find a Kenwood double din that would do what I want that had a full size screen. I hate having all the other crap on the face. Just a row of buttons across the bottom and the CD slot hidden behind the screen is what I like.

I like having a volume/mute **** on the left side that I can adjust without having to look down for while I'm driving. Other than that, the other buttons aren't needed, since all the other functions are on the screen.

I have no problems finding the volume up/down buttons on the bottom of my screen. I just lift my hand from the shifter and I'm right there.
And I prefer to use the forward/back buttons on the bottom over the screen. Less use of the screen = longer life (less chance to scratch it).

Yes, for any aftermarket head unit you need a dash trim kit and a wiring harness adapter. You can buy them locally, from Amazon, eBay, or from crutchfield.com. Both parts should be around $30 total.
