Default Will new front speakers do what I need?

I have a new HU (Sony 712HD) and a JL 10" sub with the 500/1d amp. All other speakers are stock bose. I listen to a lot of styles: jazz, classical, funk...etc.

I think the system sounds decent with the new HU and Sub. BUT...I feel there is a gap in the sound spectrum between 100 - 200hz. I'm getting great bass from the sub, but its the kind of bass that a sub should do...kicks, punches, and a small amount of filling in the lower spectrum. But I'm missing the low mid/ high bass area where the actual tone of the sounds is carried (think low strings, tuba etc..). I've EQ'd my system to death with minimal results.

I'm thinking of replacing the fronts with a speaker with a lower range. I see those Infinity Kappas go down to 45hz and will have better clarity but I doubt they will offer a ton of power in that range, but I dont know. I know that these speakers will blow away what I have, but the question is......

Will I be really gaining what I'm looking for or will I just be throwing my money away? Thoughts?

Look at stats for Kicker and Focal. I think you might find a solution. I'm running Focals in the doors, and considering (I have not installed or tested yet) Kicker in the rear slots.. --Spike
