Hopefully this will cause eclipse/fujitsu ten to bring in to the US their awesome Double Din DVD/MP3/Nav Systems. I'm really excited and rather tempted to use my tax refund for something like this, but I might have to wait till others enter the market. But 1400 is tempting, especially when others start to carry this and the price drops to 1grand.

Do you happen to know the model number of that product? I found something similar to the kenwood unit in the fall 2003 eclipse catalog... however it is not a touchscreen

Unfortunately I don't have the 2004 brochure, so I can't tell you much regarding specifics. Hopefully Eclipse will get their site updated before too long. But from the brochure, these things looked awesome.

Thank you for writing to us at Kenwood USA Corporation.

In regards to your inquiry, the specification of the DDX-7015 can be found on the web site listed below.
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-WN2QAs4...p?i=113DDX7015
The DDX-7015 will output music and navigate at the same time because the head unit has a dedicated navigation input.

If you have any further questions or need help with anything, please feel free to contact us again.

kinda stupid that they directed me to the crutchfield site. that just seems lazy. not a very good representation of customer service IMO

yep I got my new crutchfield mag yesterday and was blown away at this unit. I might have to pick it up, even though I just got the Z910DVD HU last summer.

Do you have a model # or an availability date for that unit?

No, but when I get the catalog I will scan a picture of it. It should be availible in the summer. My friend said they don't have a price on it yet, but I would imagine it would be about 2800.00 since Eclipse is high end. I would choose this over an Alpine---and I am an Alpine Fan.

Default Here is a picture from the Japanese site

For more information, go to:

http://www.fujitsu-ten.co.jp/index.html

and click on the link for AVN9903HD.

Very promising looking unit I must say.

Don't choose the English version of site because they have not update the info yet. Everything is in Japanese but a picture is worth a thousand words

Will the Kenwood unit display ID3 tags on the screen
for mp3s? Also, will this fit into the factory nav location? Thanks.

Default Kenwood Unit

Yes it will display ID3 Tags, and it is designed to fit a double din or what the stock radio takes up

Has someone figured out a way to disable the nav lock out?

I was under the impression that ll of those nav lock outs/parking break thing, just requires you to run the wire for the PB to a solid ground.

As for that kenwood, ive been very tempted to order it, i really wanted to do some DVD vid/sat radio system, and crutch is giving you a free Sirius tuner with the purchase of one of the HU, and an Antenna.. 140 dollar value, very tempting very tempting..

I am waiting for this unit to come in to our store here in Hawaii. I have it in order and hope to have it up and running in my 350Z by March 06, 2004. I am aware of the 2 volt output so i opted for the Digital Processor that will bump the volts up to 5 volts. Unclear about the mounting procedures for this unit but our store product pack states that it supports ISO mounting so i'll let you guys know how it turns out by next week. I might not need the metra kit. Now i need to decide how i'm going to glass two enclosers too fit into the compartment and stock sub wofer locations. I'll try to keep every one posted if everything goes as planned.
