Default RMR Radar jammer?

Hey guys. Forever I have heard "BUY VALENTINE 1!!!" When it comes to radar detectors. My dad and I are both looking to have our cars with hardwired radar/laser detection and he found this little jammer made by Rocky Mountain Radar. Has anyone ever heard of this? The place that is supposed to hardwire the systems for us suggested it but I've never heard of them

Jammers are either one or both of the following 1) illegal and/or 2)ineffective.

Only active ones really work, and those are definately illegal. Passive ones do not, but are legal in most places, but illegal in some.

Laser jammers are slightly more effective, and legal, but are really the most help if you run with a front plate (since cops typically aim the laser gun at it, and that's what sets off the jammer if I understand them correctly).

RMR are good as a basic radar but they're not going to deliver the protection as the V1 or Passport 8500-9500s.

Also, as far as laser jammers go, stick with the Blinder M series or equivalent.

POP and laser are two different things. Don't get them confused.

I am not sure on the exactly legality of the jammer's. But to interefere w/ police equipment is generally illegal (radar jammers are a big no no as it interfere's with sent RF siganls.)

I was looking into getting a laser jammer though, if you are going to definitely stick with the Blinder M series as mentioned above it is praised in the laser jammer community!

Rocky Mountain Radar is the biggest joke on the radardetector.net forums (kinda like the Turbonator is over here!). The owner has a multi-thousand$ challenge issued to him by Radar Roy, an authority on detection technology (and ex-cop), to prove that his "jammer" works but he hasn't stepped up yet; kinda self-explanatory wouldn't you say?

It does NOT work. Even considering it is a waste of time. And as others have pointed out already, radar jamming is 100% illegal, but laser jamming is legal in most states.

EDIT: Check out Roy's site: http://www.radarroy.com/ . Scroll down that main page to see how many times RMR is mentioned.

I have a few cops in the family and have had the chance to test my escort/passport SR7 with scramblers and it works. Yes scramblers/jammers are illegal but the SR7 version installs in the bumper where it isn't visible unless laying on the ground looking under the bumper(detector in front bumper, two jammers in front and one in back). The only visible part is the jammer that fits on the back license plate BUT looks just like a light for your plate unless examined up CLOSE(like 1-2ft). The detector part gets signals over 2mi down the road AND at least 1/2mi to the left/right around corners. The display can be hidden and connected to just LED's or a meter display however you want to install it(meter display comes with it). Mine is in the cubby hole above the stereo where the NAV would be so I can just close the door if need be. This system is hardwired and also comes with a mute button if needed. So if he pulls you over for say no signal(BS) because he couldn't get a speed on you, hit the mute and it's not going off while he's at your window. The blinder is just a jammer(although the best) and you have to purchase two, one set for front and one set for rear. After spending that much you could have got the SR7 detector plus jammer.

^^^Both of you are talking about laser jamming. This thread is about radar jamming and Rocky Mountain Radar's so-called "jammer".

And once again, radar jamming is 100% illegal in ALL states (it is a Federal law).

Nothing by RMR or Rocky Mountain Radar will jam laser or radar and their radar detection sucks.
