Default Insight Needed - New Double Din install

Alright - so i searched around for a bit and have done some reading, but i am just not sure how to go about doing this so any insight is much appreciated. If there is already a DIY on here, please let me know!

So i just bought myself a Pioneer AVH-x1600DVD double din to replace the stock BOSE cassette deck in my 04 roadster touring. All the install videos i have seen are base model Z's without the factory NAV in the upper cubby. Is there anything in particular i need to keep an eye on when doing this? I plan on keeping the stock Nav in there and simply putting the double din in the lower portion.

Thanks in advance guys!

Just remove and disconnect the nav controls. The rest is just like any other install you see in the videos. The nav screen is not connected to the center console so you don't need to mess with it.

Alright - so i can just remove the lower part of the center console and just disconnect the nav from the stock BOSE system? Would i leave it disconnected from the new deck? or should it be re-connected?

Do this but exclude steps 6-8. To remove the nav controls use a cloth-wrapped butter knife or flathead screwdriver and pry it in between the controls and the console in the middle, then slide the knife/screwdriver to the right or left to release the clips. Sounds more complicated than it is. From there you can disconnect the controls and proceed with the rest of the DIY. When you're done hook the controls back up to retain your nav functions but you will lose the nav voice by installing the Pioneer.

If you haven't already, buy a PAC-OEM1 to retain the use of the Bose amp. Otherwise the sound will be diluted. You can wire up the entire thing beforehand so all you have to do is plug in and ground.

You still need a PAC-OEM.

The BOSE system runs at lower impedance than other systems. Like Advan said, your audio will be diluted without one.

I don't think so but that's a generic picture so I don't really know what's included. You do need the dash kit but if there is no module included then it will not power the Bose amp correctly. Don't get me wrong, you will still get sound but it won't be performing as it should. You will need this:

Hmm alright - the dash kit will be here this week. I will post a pic of what it comes with when it gets in. The double din was a gift from my wife for my birthday so i am excited about that lol

There is a good Diy on this site for that. Look in the audio video Diy section. Also I believe you need the pac roemnis2 instead
