Stereo Install Problem
Hello, new here, have a 2008 350Z Bose system No Nav
ordered and installed an Kenwood KDC-X599 wiht the Meta Harness.
only problem i am having is connecting the 2- 12V yellow wires. as soon as i hook them up i get a popping nose from the speakers even with the unit off. i dont understand why the speakers are making a pop sound when i go yellow to yellow.
i currently have the Yellow tied into the red so it works but loose all settings.
anyone else had a similar issue? i am lost.
thanks.

I think you're losing your settings because you have the wire from the HU that is supposed to be receiving constant power connected to the wire from the car's harness that only supplies power when the car is acc/on.
Did you use the PAC unit so that the Kenwood is compatible with the Bose speakers/amp?
The Kenwood HU is likely operating on 4 ohms for the speaker output and Bose uses something weird like 1 ohm.
Which Metra harness did you use? Was it #70-7551?

i used the metra harness.
all works good if i tie the yellow into the red and no speaker issues, just when i try and give it 12V constant.
i did find this searching and might make a change to the wiring. taking the antenna wire off and giving that switched power tieing it in with the red. ? worth a try. right now i have all 3 blue and blue white stripe tired together.
might be making something act funny IDK.
The bose amp wire on the factory harness is a "turn-on" signal, not a power wire. It should be connected to the headunit's amp turn on lead.
The antenna amp wire is a power wire, not a signal lead, and should be connected to the accessory (switched) power.
Grounds are common to the chassis, so attach them wherever is convenient. In this case, to each other.
i gonna mess with it more tonight after work.

better to scrap the bose system and save up for new speakers/amp, than to put time/ money into working with the bose junk..you need to buy the PAC unit which is $30 iirc
Spend ~$100 on speakers and ~$75 on a used amp and youre set..The bass 2 decent 6.5 speakers will put out will be better than that crap Bose subwoofer anyday
