Default Better Quality or better yet, the difference

JBL and Infinity. I am looking at coaxials (not components). I am looking at the best coaxials both companies make. Which has better reputation, which has better sound quality (opinions), etc. Which should I get?!? I want to run the new Alpine 9835 (I think) that is coming out and I will use that to run the 4 speakers and I will have a JBL amp to run a JBL sub. So what speakers do I get????????? Please no other recomm. other than JBL or Infinity. Thanks!

The infinitys will be your best bet to run off that HU as it is very efficient and sound very nice. IF you have a FRy's near you go there and take a listen to them they are one of the most popular mainstream brands that dont suck like Sony and Kenwood.

If those were the two choices, I'd go with infinity as well.

Same. I'm not sure if I like the aluminum cones though. They're kind of ringy, for lack of a better word.

Without looking at the specs for the speakers, I'd say you should get whichever is the most efficient. (As most folks are saying up above.) By running off of a headunit's built in amp, you'll be extremely power limited, so speaker efficiency will be one of your top concerns.

He won't exactly be power limited. The new Alpine decks contain a very nice built in amp...leading me to my next question .. where are you getting it (I can't find one) and how much $$$.

Also, I would recommend the Infinity, they usually sound better to me (just from past in car expeiences)

Good luck with your system

Same problem I'm having. The 9835 is my next head unit, but they just don't exist anywhere yet. Crutchfield is estimated March 1st, so I added my email to the notification list for it. I figure Crutchfield might be one of the first to get it in since they are such a big retailer.

I'm just about to order a pair of Kappa 62.5i's and Reference 6002i's myself. I picked them over the 63.5i's cuz I like the pivoting tweeters. I heard the 6002i's at CC and they were the best sounding speakers IMHO they had.
