Default 2005 touring with Navigation Want back up camera

Is there any way to install a back up camera and have it utilize the existing navigation screen?
I don't mind losing functionality of the Navigation system. I just want my back up camera to use the existing OEM nav screen

Welcome- but I don't think anyone has managed to tap into the factory nav system to install a rearview screen.

As dkmura states, no one on this site reports doing this. With that said, it is certainly possible. To accomplish this, you need to locate the RGB or composite input wires into the navigation screen. You need to run these wires back to a toggle switch you add that is also wired to the wire leads from your backup camera. The toggle switch allows you to select either the navigation screen or the backup camera. It becomes more tricky if you want the screen to automatically display an image if you put the car in reverse, but certainly possible.

I would tend to think it'd be easier (or not?) to find a backup cam & monitor that could fit in the place where factory nav resides. At least the theory makes more sense to me. (Hmmmm...)

I don't have factory nav. I use the "Uber method"..... phone in cradle.

thanks for the replies.
I think I have found a product from NavTool that will allow me to use the current Nav screen as my back up camera screen.
As someone stated , one idea is to just install the back up camera screen I. The same space as the Nav. But I can’t fine one that fits very nicely without a lot of custom fabrication. I want it to look factory, so using the current navigation screen will achieve that.
i can’t figure out how to link it, but Nav Tool sells a video interface for the 350z that will add many abilities to factory Nav system
Will keep you posted.

I was once about that, I'm starting to evolve since everything isn't worth it and typically isn't as good as aftermarket. Your Nav is hidden so it's not too much of an issue. I thing there are aftermarket screens that can do both but I haven't looked in a while.

The Garmin has the be the best option to add nav. If I decide to get rid of mine I can let you know if you want lol
