Ever yelled into a fan before when you were a kid? I did odd experiments when I was young. The sound gets completely chopped up and creates an odd frequency in relation to the fan blade speed. Since sound waves travel through the two fans you installed the frequencies are getting distorted and muffled. For best results let the bass freely flow through open air.
Good point. I will order a speaker cover and slap it on there. I didn't think it would matter for bass as every subwoofer I've had was in the trunk. Closed off from the cabin and yet I could still hear it just fine.
