Default isn't it ironic....

So today I drove my Z for the first time with a V1 that I got just last night. I get onto the freeway and drive hardly a mile, and guess who gets pulled over? I guess I was doing 72 in a 55 zone. This was the first time I've ever been caught speeding, or even been pulled over for that matter. $185... boooo. and I thought V1 detectors were the best in the market. how ironic?

(just blowing some steam)

Did your V1 go off? Maybe you were being clocked with VASCAR or some other non-radar technology.

Default Hey life is ironic sometimes

I won't lie, I tend to speed every now and then. But I am definetly NOT wreckless. I don't speed on the streets or in traffic. By speeding, I don't mean going 80 in a 50 zone, more like 130+ in a 50 or 65 zone. I never got a ticket going above 75 mph. But I did get a ticket 2 times for going 67 in a 50 zone and 71 in a 55 zone. UNBELIVEABLE, I got a ticket 2 times for going with the normal flow of traffic. O' and once I was going 95 in a 30 zone, got stoped by 4 Police cars and was let off with a warning.

UNBELIVEABLE

P.S. Never got a ticket in my 350Z

Sometimes the cops don't have their radar turned on and therefore you cannot "see" them. They'll wait until they see someone speed and then turn it on. This way they are not spotted.

Cops are also know to utilize laser which some radar detectors do detect but the only way that will help is if the cop is targeting someone else. Unlike radar, laser works instantaneously (well almost). If they turn it on your radar might tell you he's using it but your still ****ed.

I personally have been extremely lucky and have never gotten a speeding ticket *fingers crossed*. I once got stopped doing 40 mph in a school zone. Got let off with a warning (female cops, don't you love 'em).

Got stopped for doing 79+- in a 60 zone after the cop saw me fly by him at 105 and slam on my breaks. Let me off with a warning and complimented me on my car ('01 Jetta).

I'm still amazed at some of the stories till this day.

Radar dectectors only give you a false hope of security. Since I've gotten rid of mine I've gotten zero tickets and still go just as fast as I use to. The difference is I learned how to read traffic when speeding, what to look for when police clock (where, how, signs), etc...

You have to mount the Valentine or any radar detector for that matter as high as possible to get the best reception. If the guy was shooting you from the rear and your rear antenna was obstructed you will get tapped and not know it. Also, you have to factor in that the guy was shooting traffic and he probably got someone else and thought you looked faster. I was out in Los Angeles and got a ticket a few years back. I was in a small car and an Expedition rolled by me like I was standing still. The California Highway Patrol stopped me and gave me the ticket. I attempted to explain to him that the radar picks up the larger object but he would have none of it. I had a fun weekend in driving school.
