Default Precision Power Amp

I am looking for any information on the Presision Power PCX series amps. I had a Sedona series amp that was about 8 years old and was very pleased with it. The speakers I want to push have a RMS rating of 90 watts. 1 of the 2 amps that I am looking into has a RMS rating of 50 x4 and the other is 80 x 4. Which one would be better for the Infinity speakers (60.5cs and 62.5i). I have heard that PPI is very conservative about their wattage ratings. Can anyone confirm this. Thanks for any information.

Also, has anyone bought factory refurbished electronics. My thinking is that a refurb has been factory tested unlike a new amp. I think this would verify that it operates to mfr standards. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

I have 2 of the 50x2 PPI PCX amps. One on my Quart components, one on my excelons. They do indeed push more than they are rated at...my mids and highs scream. I'm sure the 50x4 would be plenty on your Kappas. 80x4 you will need to visit the ear doctor the next day. As far as the refurbs, I have no idea, but your logic does make since.
