Default Anybody who's installed Infinity Kappa Perfect....

I just did the install and used the OEM speaker adapter....the magnet still hits the glass a little bit, so I used 4 washers on each screw hole. Now the door panel doesn't close all the way. From what I've read, the speakers should have just fit with oem speaker adapter? Can anybody help me out?

that's weird...mine fits perfect with the stock speaker mount. did you cut the mount at all besides cutting the speaker out from it??

I have the 63.5's and they weren't close to fitting. Had to cut out the supports on the stock grill, sand it a little, and it still didn't fit well (sticks out a little at the bottom). That's how I left it but will go back and sand down the spacer some to make it fit perfect. I don't think there's another way without molding a new grill.

on the door panel itself there are rib like plastic pieces, I cut those out with a dremel and the door fits perfect. the speaker grill sticks out a little but its not too noticeable.

Ok, I think that's what I may do! I just thought about it last night, but haven't looked yet.

Here's what I did with the factory speaker piece....I took out the factory speaker and just ripped off all the diagnal pieces that were holding the magnet in:

yeah i did that too, it came out fine in the end. This is the price we have to pay to install speakers with such a big magnet, but I guarantee you it will be worth it once you hear the sound from these speakers.

I actually mounted my crossovers in the door, used double sided tape, the very strong kind. You will notice that on your door there is a part where it indents, it is closer to the top of the door. All you have to do is trim down the yellowish foam padding and it will fit like a glove.

Alright, I finished messing around with the install, and got everything perfect! Somehow I got the window off track when I was taking out that big silver metal piece on the door to see what's back there...so that's why it was hitting the magnet. I realized that today, and it fit perfect..no more hitting, and the door panel fits fine. I actually put the crossover IN the door, and it fits perfect back there. What you are saying was one of the ideas I was thinking about as well, but did not think about double sided tape.

Thanks for your help!
