ai-net cable issue from clarion dvd player to new head unit!?!?
Ok so me and Jtree007 installed a new head unit yesterday in my z.....i put in the new alpine 9835 unit ($550 retail). Anyways for the aux in to work you must buy a ai-net to rca conversion cable. EVERY STORE IN METRO ATLANTA is sold out of the alpine version of this cable. So i found a generic chinese brand one at audiopro in metro atl. After we installed everything i noticed that when i try to PLAY ANYTHING from the dvd player (vcd's, dvd's or cds) the audio on the higher frequencies is VERY DISTORTED and messed up majorly. The dvd player never did this b4. Im hoping it is just a cheap cable, because my kenwood head unit with a normal rca to rca cable had no distortion. Secondly, me n my friend put a mp3 player with a headphone jack into an rca cable and tested the input of the ai-net cable on the new head unit and this time NO DISTORTION. This would make it seem as if my dvd player has issues but before yesterday it worked fine...very strange.
I am gonna take a shot at buying the OFFICIAL ALPINE version of this cable and see if maybe the dvd player just has issues being compatible with the cheaper cable.....anyone else ran into this problem
IF ALL ELSE FAILS and i have to get a different dvd player, what is a good one that is a single din unit and detachable face? i have a clarion vs735 now and this is my last case scenario to replace it....
thanks in advance

Don't know what to tell you. I have the same DVD player and just run regular RCAs to the HU's AUX port. I don't use the ai-net port. But if you don't have an AUX port, then you may have to.
