Default What Brand Battery Terminals to Use?

Hey! I've been debating for some time what type of battery terminals to go with for my amp install. I've got one extra piece of 4 awg to go to both + and - and was wondering what terminal people have had the most success using, given the cramped space. Also, anybody had warranty problems after modifying the original battery terminals with aftermarkets? Damn, this is the last bit to get before I go gonzo and slap all of this stuff into my ride! I'm pretty anxious about this bit, so I've saved it to the end. Pls. let me know what everybody out there thinks!

I haven't seen any that will fit, but surely they exist.

I think you could use most spade terminals either on the available terminal on the battery (I'm using it now, hope I don't overload anything), or put a spade terminal on the back of the stock terminal.

Default terminals

What up guys! Thanks for the responses, much appreciate the advice Dissident. Just curious, did you have to do any modifications to the stock battery cover or terminal covers to get the extra wires in there? That's obviously the cheaper alternative. I'm definitely all about cheap. As far as overloading, new terminals wouldn't change the amount of metal contacting the battery's + and - outputs, so wouldn't imagine it would overload it. Thanks again for the posts!

Check out my pics linked in this thread:

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=74056

I basically followed the how-to sticky and ran the wire through the grommet already there. I'm more worried about overloading the fusbible link, sinc eI can't tell if the available terminal (not post) I used is pre or post fuse... But, I've been driving since yesterday and no lights flicker and nothing has blown up yet.

Ha! Yeah, fingers crossed, right? I'll have to do some further investigation under the battery cover, I see. Yeah, I'd actually just posted a comment on the thread you attached. I must admit, I hadn't wanted to sign up initially for the ImageStation site, but I was happy that I did! Your pix are spectacular and look really similar to what's going on in my car. Kudo's on the front door install, BTW. That's a killer idea. I'll have to let you know how mine sounds when it's done. Funny that we have a really similar set-up in terms of boston speakers, similar install locations for amps and subs, etc. As far as overloading your system, I saw that big a$$ cap you have in there. I wouldn't worry too much about an overload of current draw with that bad boy in place. That should be more than enough insurance. As far as the .5ft volume, geez that's not much. I was thinking of the popcorn thing to test it too. Glad to know that works. Damn, saw your head unit. That's SWEET!!! Is that the Jap spec or European? Am I right that they don't sell that in US spec?

Yeah, if I remember (I used to have 2 10.4s) the 10.4 took up a bit more volume than the 10.5s, which sound great right around .5. I might have a bit more than that, so it's probably a bit boomier than it would beotherwise, but It hink it'll sound great once I really tweak it.

I think the head unit is the korean one, since it works with the US frequencies; I bought it on ebay, so I can't say for sure.

That's interesting! I'll be doing the same. Thanks for the pic! BTW, I don't see from your pic anywhere that there might be a fuse to worry about. Looks like you're good! Thanks again for the help!

motown,

I used to run those exact amps back in mid 90's. Those were some of the best amps I ever had. I don't think RF makes anything near the same quality as they did back then. I bet those and the Bostons are gonna sound great!!
