For those of you that have installed your amps behind the seat in the location of where the factory sub goes, what is your grounding point? I have found two large bolts back there that seem to be ideal for a ground. Was planning on removing the nut and sanding down the paint with a Dremel. Then running a 0 gauge wire to a ground block and then 8 guage to my two smaller amps which will be about a 1 to 1 1/2 foot run for each. I will be running a 4 gauge to the large amp which is going to be installed to the rear of the rear speakers in the space between the rear strut bar and the rear speakers. If you agree with this or have used something else that you found to be a better ground, please let me know. Thanks in advance!
Mine was on the side of the car next to the door. I wish I had a digital camera to show you. Essentially, it is on the frame where the sub cover bolts on to the right under the side trim panels. There are two gaps where you can run wire to hook it up there.
A ground is a ground. Essentially their are other places on the chassis to connect the ground wire but the two bolts that you uncovered should do the job!
I was wondering though if you have the factory bose system? I am asking because I have the base model Z hence no sub enclosure. I also planed on installing my amp in the same location. I was kind of worried about the heat generated from the sub and if it would be a problem if the area was not vented.

I have my JL 500/5 in that location. thadon . . . I have had no problems with the amp overheating, even though that area is not directly ventilated. However, I'm not sure what you mean by the sub generating heat. If your sub is in that location, then how can you fit your amp there?
done12many2 . . . that ground should be fine.

Typo on my part. I was referring to just having an amp mounted in their.
Thanks for answering my question!

zand02max, how did you secure the wooden things that the amp is bolted to? Does it move? Is there anybody local to me who has done this?
