New at this need help...
Ok I am new to the stereo mods and I am in search of some help. I just bought the Alpine 9831 HU. A few questions:
1. Once I remove the factory stuff, are all the wires compatible to just snap into the back of the alpine?
2. The new HU has XM controls, does that mean I do not need a delphi or other tuner that I can use the HU?
3. For the sat radio to work I am guessing that I just need the XM modulator?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

1. You need to get a Metra Kit and wiring harness from Crutchfield or elsewhere. Once you get that, it will snap into the existing wires in the Z.
2. It has the controls capable of operating a satellite tuner. You would need to get an XM Tuner and Antenna. Not Delphi, but one from Alpine that connects to the HU.
3. You would only need the modulator if you bought a delphi or tuner like that, then you couldnt use the controls on your HU. You need something like this.. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-n5BHMCN...XMD1000&o=&a=0 As well as some digital adapter they now have. Not to mention a suscription to XM.

Thanks for the input, so the link you attached would be what I need to buy correct? That would have the antenna and then I assume that hooks to the head unit???
