I just redrilled the 4 holes on the factory bracket. Place them back a little about 1/2 inch or so.

I dont think we can DL wallpaper to the unit, at least not that I know of. It will be sweet if we can tho.

I believe so. I've been playing those Japanese version "Option" and "Best Motoring" DVDs on it with no problem. So it plays all region no doubt. I've also played some cheap home made racing DVDs I got off of eBay(copies?). So I would think it would. But I have yet personally burn a dvd format disc and play it tho(Dont have a DVD burner).

Yeah, I dont have a DVD burner, but if I could put MP3's onto DVD that would be awesome. I could go a month without changing the disk ! Anyone out there playing mp3's from a dvd data disk?

Only downsides are that 1) you have to find a trim that fits, or DIY one. The one it comes with doesnt fit that well. 2) It does not show the clock unless you switch to the main manual. 3) it gets hella hot when playing for awhile. 4) Not retractable(safety reason).

All and all, I love mine.

Hey Phatmitzu- Are you running this head unit to the factory speakers?? If so, how do you think they sound??

THanks

Yeah I got them connect to the factory speakers(none boss).
They sound alright...but for some reason I dont think they sound as good as the factory HU. Maybe its me that dont know how to adjust the eq. Anyhow, thats why Im getting my speakers done so it can really do its job.

Thanks. I think I'm just going to jerk the Bose system out all together. I've had the car 2 days and it's already driving me nuts.

I have the headunit connected to the factory non bose, and I was impressed with how much better it sounded overall...a much fuller, richer sound, even with the EQ all zeroed out.

headunit works really well...plays every DVD I have put into it yet. One thing that bugs me is the inability for you to use the onscreen controls for playing, chapter search, etc on every DVD....the remote is much easier to use, thoughit would be nice to use on screen (or better yet, they should incorporate the buttons to the side of the unit itself, to avoid hitting the screen)

I have seen them also on ebay but I talked to local dealers in Southern Cali and they said that if they are not an authorized Kenwood dealer that Kenwood would not honor the warranty if something went wrong with the hu.
I've got quotes from local dealers ranging from $1100 to $1300.

I've noticed alot of ppl using this unit with the factory non-Bose speakers... but I've got the Bose system and I'm currently looking to just replace my head unit with this one.
How does it sound? Is there anything special about the install at all, and finally is there any wire harness adapter?
