Default Should I use Focal or JL components?

Well my car is in the audio shop right now. Guy calls me and asks if I want to go with a Focal set of compontents as opposed to the JL Audio I had picked out before. I've never heard anything bad about JL but he told me that Focal's tend to have better sound quality and clarity, and he thought that from what I had explained of my hopes to him that this would be more along the lines of what I was looking for... Anyone with opinions on if I should go with Focal over JL? I am still doing JL amps and subs.

My thought... he ran out of JL components and they are backordered for 2 weeks or something. But if the Focals are as good/better, screw it I'll take em.

Thanks guys. I just dunno much about audio overall. Figured JL everything would just match up better but with your opinions, some opinions from the E46 site and the shop guy telling me I'll be happier, I guess I'll go with it.

From a reputation standpoint ... Focal (JM Labs) is one of the most respected names in audio (home, car, studios), period. JL audio is known for bass (and yes, they are darn good at it) ... yes they make some nice amps, but they are not the best ... and the same goes for the components ... nice, but not focal quality.

if your install is done right ... your in home stereo may get retired ... and you'll be listening to your tunes in the car

yes ... Focals can sound that good

Good luck on the install and get us some pics when you are all done.

I agree Focal are good components. The best? No.

JL just recently came out with amps, so their amps arent really world renound just yet.

But I do agree somewhat.

Check out CDT or Crystal audio, or go to www.stereointegrity.com and look at their components, said to some of the nicest sounding around.
