Default Length Of Audio Install

How long did it take for you or your shop to do your audio install, and how much did it cost. Im just trying to get an idea of what im looking at for a full system, including sub boxed in stock location.

Below is what I had done. For sub box add $150 to price in post.

Time was one day.

HU (Alpine 7995)
component fronts (MB Quart PCE 216)
rears (DKE 116)
amp (Alpine MRV-F450)
2x12" subs (JL audio 12w3)
MDF custom box
amp (JL 500/1)
alarm (Alpine SEC-150R)
= 4 days.

Parts + labor = ~4k

I'm sure the shop that worked on this could have done it faster if they knew what they were doing.

Ya, I think they could have done it faster. It is a lot of stuff and I didn't want to rush them. Personally, I would have thought 3 days was sufficient.

Mine took maybe 3 days total. It took me about a day and a half to put in all the components/HU in my sig. Then a few months later I built a sub box and added two subs (took about 10 hours to measure, build box, run wires and hookup subs).

It's been a long time, 3 months so far. That's including the planning and design. It took about 2 months to figure out what I was going to put in and to design the sub box and dash.

Now the doors, that's a different beast. It's been about a month so far and still got a few more weeks before it's finished. The longest time is sending the items out to get painted, waiting for the resin to dry etc. Total is around 8k.

Clarion DXZ945MP
Boston Pro 4.5 center channel
Boston Z6 doors
Boston SL65 rear
Clarion VMA7194 monitor mounted in dash
3 JL 10w6v2
3 Xtant 1.1 for center, left, right channels
3 Xtant 3.1 to each sub

Took me 24 hours over the course of two days with the help of one friend. That time includes lots of breaks too though.

That time included building my sub box and running all speaker wire (running into the doors sucked big time)

My setup is in my sig.

My install will take 4-6 weeks for everything I want done (fiber/plexi glass, mirrors, flip down mionitor or maybe motorized 15" flatscreen, and alot of little extras). Total cost will probably be 8-10k.

The money spent was suppose to go to FI. That idea is on hold for know...
