Default Is the JLAudio Stealthbox a good buy?

I called my local audio shop and asked him about the JLAudio Stealthbox for the Z's and he said he's installed a couple using the stock head unit and a new amp and he said it kicks nice and sounds great....can anyone else confirm this? I'd like some nice bass but nothing crazy.

Well it depends on what you consider a good buy. If you just want some easy slip in bass then yes, it's a good buy. Definately better than that free air Bose sub. It hits hard enough inside the car to make you happy. You can hear it outside the car but it's not obnoxious. I listen to hip hop and it sounds great. It can't compete with a bass head's system though but that's not what you're looking for

I've had mine for about 6 months now and it sounds pretty good. It would have been better if the W7's or the W6's came in it instead of the W3's. I eventually re-wired it to use 2 seperate amps.

W6 and W7 i'm assuming can handle more power therefor providing more thump?

How much was the Stealthbox?

Some guy on the board replaced the W3's with some W6's and said it made a noticeable difference. I think he sold the W3's to get the 6's. They're not cheap.

IIRC, it's $800. That's with 2 10w3, enclosure and shipping.

As for swapping it out with w6, I don't think there's enough air space.

As for the difference between a w3, w6.

I've had mine for about 3 months.... It sounds great... It hits a little too hard for modern music. My guy is installing some sort of bass control device between my Alpine MRD-501 and my IVA-D300. My main gripe is the finish not there.... If they took the time and even used OEM carpet so it matches. That would have been great. But I got mine at wholesale, so I can't complain.... Don't pay anywhere near 800 for it that's crazy.... If you want fit and finish and have a bigger budget go to Nazar... He has a sick rep within the audio industry. I first herd about him through my boy who is an Alpine Rep in Long Island. www.wickedcas.com
