Alpine MRV-F450 AMP

Yes i chose RED for the box. It was that or black. It doesnt really match the exterior of the car that well but it still looks really nice IMO. What you all think?

I accidently bought blue carpet instead of black and didnt notice it until i opened it. Since nobody sees the amp really i figured it wouldnt matter.

What does everyone think about the install? especially the subwoofer? Red stick out to much for most im guessing? Should of gone black?

Looks good. Now how did you mount the board your amp is on? Did you screw it to the floor board?

if u look inside the area behind the driver seat were the stock subwoofer is on the touring model.. You will see 2 things hanging down with holes in them. Now i have no idea why they are there. Maybe a future thing or maybe nissan new we would use them for something. I had LOWES cut me a 19inchx12inch board and then i covered that with carpet that i got from pepboys.
then i just got 2 |_ type brackets and installed it that way. You can buy big enough brackets so the amp sits flat if u want.
total cost. $30. Total time. 1hour (including getting parts)

Thanks for the quick reply. I might just have to try that. I have to use a smaller board though because my subwoofer has to have enough clearance. Unfortunatley for us roadster owners, that's the only place we put a sub.

The tabs that hang down in the back of the subwoofer compartment are identical to the tabs that hang down in back behind the glovebox to hold it up. This led me to checking into putting in another glovebox for my amp install, since it would be a simple matter to whack a couple holes in it for ventilation and/or fans. Turns out that it would be about $300 to do so, if the parts were purchased from the local dealer. Needless to say, instead I spent about $30 at Home Depot and have a nice lightweight open aluminum rack. Much better. I used those hanging tab things to hold the back of it up, and some of the screws around the opening to hold up the front. It is very stable.

Anyone think painting the GRILLE silver (the color of the center part of the strut bar) or maybe red would look good?
Another question would it be worth it to rewire my front speakers with new 14guage speaker wire? Or would i not notice a difference?
