Default Yellow Top Battery

I know there had been a bit of a discussion about it lately, but I wanted to make sure. I ordered and received a Optima Yellow Top D51R battery and am near ready to install it. Does anyone actually have this model installed and working? I keep hearing it was designed for a Civic and wanted to make sure it would support the Z, it's definetly smaller than the stock one.. thanks!

The Group 51 was not designed for the Civic, but that application was a major reason the battery was developed. The design of the battery shares the technology with the larger yellow tops, but at about half the active material. Even with this, the group 51 yellow top should still out perform a standard car battery. Some of the advantage of the Optima batteries is the ability to handle load cycling, vibration, and harsh temperatures. You will get these advantages even with the small Optima.

I would say that is was not designed for the Civic, but the Civic market.
