Default Finally finished Stereo Install - Finished pics

Special thanks to everyone on this board that answered all my noob questions.

My setup:

Head Unit: Pioneer AVH-P7500 - mmmm Burr Brown DACs
Amp: JL Audio 500/1
Front Speakers: Focal 165K2P with TN52 tweeters
Rear Speakers: Focal Access 165CA
Sub: JL Audio 8w7
Center Channel: Boston Acoustics 4" Coax
Line Driver: AudioControl Matrix
Nav: Pioneer AVIC-88DVD

Here is how the dash ended up. There is a fiberglassed speaker grill where the Nav door used to be and behind that I have a BA 4" Coax speaker in a small box.

I had the dash painted after realizing that a dash kit looked awful.

And here are the tweater in the stock location - I ended up cutting larger holes and using a desk cable passthrough grommit for the speaker surround. Went a little over the edge, but not too bad overall.

and here is where my amp ended up. I'm so happy I was able to hide it here and keep my glovebox space. This was a pain to mount and fit in that location. I'd like to add a light and a clear cover with vent holes to get more airflow over the amp heat sinks. There is also a Monster Digi Cap hidden back in that compartment and covered by the glovebox...

oh yeah... here you can see my speaker in the door. Getting these huge magnets to fit in my door was probably the hardest part of the install. I had my door arm rests painted to match the center console.

ebay. Yeah it souds great, but I still have to tune it a bit. I also have to figure out something cleaner to do with the door speaker surrounds. They look a little ghetto, but I'm workin' on it.

The interior of my car is dirty as hell too, but who has time for cleaning when you can cruise around with your tunes?

I dig your install. Looks clean. Just curious, what'd you do to your nav door? Was it removed? Otherwise, I might think about painting it (I'd assume the rest of the dash is painted that color-?). Outside of that, I really like your set-up. What don't you like about the Focal grills on the door? I think they look nice enough. They seem to match the rest of the door pretty well. Just one guy's opinion... Either way, I like it! Now, let's see some pix of your sub!

motown,

Thanks for the kind words. I removed the entire nav door and box inside. I had a center channel put in the space behind the nav door instead and the grill over that speaker is fiberglassed from a mold of the nav door.

I had the dash painted because I originally had a dask kit that didn't look right. The place that did it matched the color to the silver rings around the guages and the air conditioner controls and then it was glossed over. It matches really well, although difficult to tell from these pics(probably because of the gloss.) I would completely recommend having it painted. It is the only way to get it to look really pro.

The speaker grilles are OK. I made them myself from a recessed lighting ring, but I am trying to find something that looks just a little bit cleaner. I need a silver ring that will fit over the hole in the door. I need to measure the rings around the G35 to see if they will fit, but I think they are too small.
