Default pics of re-installed system

originally i had 3 10w7 but whenever i turned it up they "popped" and sounded almost as if they were blown. Originally i thought this was because the 1000/1 powering them simply could not put out enough for them. Given the amp def. wasnt powerful enough for the subs, but the amp was also running at under 1.5 ohms, and JL amps only operate correctly between 1.5-4 ohms. I dont know why nobody picked this up when Nazar did my install. Also the vinyl was peeling off of the box and the floor because they didnt use the right kind of glue. Lastly, the box def. was not big enough for 3 10w7s. I sold 1 of the subs and was going to have tweeter put the remaining 2 in the spare tire well, but it would have been $$$ for them to build a new floor. I put them back in the same spot, but the box is now big enough. I had it wrapped in carpet and floor wrapped in carpet too. I like the look of vinyl better but it would have been more expensive.

forgot to say that 2 working correctly and with the correct airspace sounds much better than the 3.

That looks really sweet. I was thinking about getting 1 10w7 and putting it in a similar box in the same place. Did you buy your 10w7's from somewhere online? I have seen them around and they seem much cheaper than what my local stereo shop is charging....

I will probably run it off a JL 500/1 amp.

Do you think that is a good setup?

my very first install had 1 10w7 under the strut with a 500/1 but i wanted more bass, but if you dont want too much yeah it is a perfect set up. I had Nazar do my first install so i bought everything through him at a very good price. I would buy online though if i were you. Check out ebay.

Andy, It looks nice. However I have to point out a couple things for my behalf.
Just want to remind you. We called JL that night late...(around 11:00 PM) and got someone on the cell and got a confirmation on trying it at 1 ohm. So we knew the parameters of the amp however we got clearence from JL to try it, I know you were there for the install. Sorry to hear the Vinyl pealing, You and I spoke on the phone and you were gonna have our old shop (warranty) look at that and call me after if they couldn't help you. I wish you came to me I would have taken care of it even though we are not at the old shop anymore, as I mentioned to you on the phone. I hate to have seen you spend more money.

The JL reccomended volume from their weBsite is
"Sealed Range: 1.00 - 1.375 cu. ft. (28.3 - 38.9 ltrs)"
Triple 10 enclosure is approx 2.75 Cu Ft. Being in the same chamber will allow for a little more room. So enclosure you had was not wrong. However that night we discussed you not having enough power for 3x10w7 and mutualy decided you would do an upgrade.

And I remember very well that one of the subs the one all the way to the right kept popping at hi-volumes which we were supposed to warranty. But we did not have a nother one in stock. (This sub was your old one from original install). Well we never got to see you after that install. Got to talk on the phone but did not hook up. Last I heard you were gonna call me when you drove up home and we were going to take care of things.

Sorry if there was any misunderstanding, I just hate to see my customers not getting taken care of, (weather by me or the old shop) If I did anything for you not to come to me please let me know so I can correct it for the next time. This is not to start any flames, it is just to show my appology for not having the chance to fix your sub situation.

Yes I agree with you single 10W7 with a 500/1 is my favorite set up and 2X10w7 is a better fit with a 1000/1 Having plenty of power. I am sure your set up now sounds a lot better. If there is anything I can do for you please call me 603-642-4222

Nazar,
wasnt trying to slander you and i do remember you guys calling JL. I think it would have sounded sweet with the 3w6s instead of w7s like the first install that you did. I wish that i was around the area becuase I liked your service and would have rather dealt with you than going somewhere else. It was worth a try doing the 3 and hands down it looks much better than 2 of them. If i was always in NH im sure it would have been a much different situation. I am in no way disappointed with either your service or your prices. I know that if i had gone somewhere else for the install it would have been easily at least $$$ 2 Gs more. Sorry if i came across harsh.
andy.

Sly,
Im on it, i take of for SC on monday, but i am gonna go try to take the bracket out now, and if we cant meet up before then, i will leave it at my girlfriends house and you can grab it.

Wow, I can't image what 2 W7's and a 1000/1 would sound like. I think i have plenty of bass with the single W7 and the 500/1. At the last minute I almost went with 2 W7's but I wanted my box design and I felt like I was going to have enough bass and it would have changed everything so I opted for the single and I am not disappointed.

Looks nice... is that Nazar's standard understrut box? I have a understrut box for 2 10s and am going to use it with Infinity Perfect 10.1d subs because I thought there wouldn't be enough airspace for two W7s...

Andy,

Sorry for the long post. I didn't mean to sound harsh, I was just surprized not to have heard from you. I just wanted to make sure you were still happy with us. Anything you need in the future let me know. You know I will take care of it.

Wren57,

I don't think that is one of our boxes, However our flat face box will have enough room for 2x10W7s as Andy was mentioning. It is approx 2.15-2.25 Cu ft. which is tight for W7s.

That is not nazars box but his is the same. Naz, I would have liked to stop by I end up spreading myself real thin when I come home and its only for a week or two. As it was i had to stop by the old place to have one of my door speakers replaced but had to be back in mass for a meeting in the afternoon. Is kevin working with you and justin now?
