What is a really good set of midbass drivers for the rear?
I already pondered the idea of no rears for imaging purposes but i'd rather mess with the time correction and have a good set of midbass speakers to add more bass. I have a possible 75 watts running to each rear speaker what are my options as far as midbass drivers go?

I really like the Koda 6 midbass drivers. they are $80 a pop but sound far superior to their price. You will probably need to glass in some type of enclosure to get the most out of them but the quality and quantity of sound will surprise you.

Focals do sound nice, but I've always found them to be a bit light and airy for my tastes. (You know those French folks and their speakers.) I've personally always been very impressed with Dynaudio midbass drivers. In my Z and in my prior car using the factory locations with no fancy mounting, switching from a set of Polks to a set of Dynaudios increased the midbass response tremendously.
The rear speakers are 6.5", right? (I just disconnected them in my install for imaging purposes.) You might be able to fit the MW160 driver in there. I think Dyn lists it as a 7" driver, but it might fit. Otherwise you could try the MW160GT which is a true 6.5". The GT is generally considered to be a bit inferior to the others, but it's still pretty darn nice.
Regardless of your driver, try and seal off that enclosure if possible. If you can get it sealed you'll get much better low frequency response out of it. And Dynamat should help prevent resonance. (Always a good idea.)
For what it's worth, I'm only using the Dynaudio MW160 drivers in my doors, and we pretty much sealed the doors with Dynamat. No rear drivers behind the seats. It actually gets unbelievable midbass reponse. My installer was stunned at how strong it was with just those front speakers and sealed doors.

I was wondering the same thing. Always wanted to use Dynamat & I don't care what some of you say, it works way better than I thought. Big fan of midbass and not sure what drivers to go with. Let me know if anybody got a 7" driver back there.
