Default Eclipse AVN54 6.5 toch panel cd/dvd w/ navigation

Anyone have experience with this unit? Is it worth the 2299.? Built in navigation, no subscription, just a disc. Back up camara? What does everyone think.

I think this is a BAD *** unit! I am an Alpine fanatice but I always like Eclipse--I just didn't buy one because they didn't have a Nav unit availible (last two cars).

Eclipse is High-end---great sound and features. They are the ones that Pioneered the "flip out screens" and Multimedia. Everyone else copied their technology. Anyway I am going to get this unit installed into my QX4 and when I get my Z I will be doing a Full Eclipse Sytem. Just my 2cents!

Not trying to flame your thread, but why spend $2300, when you can spend $1500 and get a Pioneer AVIC-N1, does the same thing and more. Even has vehicle dynamics,

Eclipse quality and customer service surpasses Pioneer by a lot.

I couldn't justify customer service for an extra $800.

Its a nice unit though!

Can you justify a company REPLACING your HU if it was stolen during the first year? I would buy an Eclipse HU just because of their customer service. I haven't seen any company that would do that.

huh...you can't compare apples to oranges....

the eclipse is a double-din unit while the pioneer is a flip-up screen.

to some, that's worth the extra cost. plus you can play a CD and have navigation running at the same time.

the pioneer requires you to remove the nav disc to play a cd. yeah, i know about the Nav memory, but i've heard it's a hassle to deal with.

it all depends on what you are looking for.

No flame taken. I want all the information possible. $2300 is a lot of money thats why I'm doing some research before I even think about it.

The unit is amazing. In this market, you get what you pay for. I've seen many head units from Pioneers, Kenwoods, and Alpines - and nothing came close to the quality of the Eclipse.

Just save the extra money and treat yourself great.

you can view my thread, I have it installed:

Eclipse DOES NOT authorize internet sales of its products. You have to find a local dealer for Eclipse products. PM me if you want the number of a dealer in NJ.

It is tempting, but throwing away 1000.00 is different than throwing away a couple hundred.

There was a memeber that was able to get a few for 1400.00, I think His friend had a few extra that was an Eclipse Rep. I want to see this response. My Local shop would sell me one for 2100.00

remote is optional.

employee purchase price on this unit is $1150. $900 is TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!!!!

don't ask me if I can get some for you because it's limited to one head unit per employee per yr.

I just had a Demo done at my Local Shop. The Eclipse kicks ***!!!! Funny thing was, they were all knocking the Kenwood Unit! They like it, but too many install parts and the Eclipse offers all in one. The other things I liked were the interactive menus were awesome graphics compared to any unit that are out including Alpine!
