Ron,

Yes you can. You just need a line converter. I just sold my. I bought it and never use it. Do a search for Navone Engineering. Its supposed to be a high end.

I decided to go with an aftermarket HU.

Default What Amp?

What amp are you going with?

I have a JL audio e1400D and a JL 10w6v2 hooked up to the stock HU. I did not use a line converter because the JL has the line-in built into the unit.

So far it sounds great. I have it in a temporary box as my custom one is still under construction. But I have no issues with how it sounds.

Will it work with Bose HeadUnit?

Or will it work just changing the HeadUnit and Leave the Bose amp and speaker stock?

I used the stock BOSE HU, only to save the 6 CD. I wanted a stock look but am looking to dump the HU now. We used Directed in line converters so we could run RCAs to the rear instead of speaker wire, it's much cleaner. My Alpine R series 10" is in the stock BOSE location, but we are fabbing a glass box and amp rack for the compartment (The sub blows the grill off so we will fab something for that too). We may go with twin 10"s in the long run.

Old post, sorry for "ressurrecting", but I'm looking to replace the crappy Bose sub with my 10" L7 Kicker I've had sitting around for months with a kicker amp. So all you need is the line converter and you can run an aftermarket sub/amp with the stock bose system? That's pretty cool. I don't mind the stock Bose system, but the sub HAS to go!

I wonder if the Kicker will fit in the stock Bose spot? I'm suspecting not since it's totally different dimensions, but maybe with a little fabricating, it will . I really like the stock sub position for "stealthiness"

I'm also going to install an amp and a sub to the base HU, So what type of line converter do we need?

Default Amp Question

Hi,

I was wondering if you can give me a little guidance. I recently purchased an AVIC-N1 for me G35. The problem that I am running into is with the BOSE amp and speakers. I want to keep everything the same (speakers and amp) and just replace the HU. Some people tell me I need the LOC, or connect the HU directly to the amp, or bypass the AMP all together.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks
