Original HU Setup...is this ghetto!?
Okay here is what I did.
I I got the DIN plate off of JimRHIT (Thanks Jim )
I then had a mentra kit installed and had the DIN plate cut to fit flush over the Metra Kit Cubby Hole.
Tell me what you guys think.
I know the the X-Plod isnt the best HU but it plays MP3+ the colors match perfect!
Excuse the fingerprints and dirt

I have that HU in my beater (Neon) . Don't get me wrong, looks good EnthuZiast. The only thing I don't like about the HU is that it doesn't read the ID3 tags from MP3s but the CD Text was pretty cool (if you have the software to encode that onto your CD during the burn process).

that "din plate"...could you cut one such that it fit over the HU and the cubby hole? Thus covering up the little space there at the top?
You could cut the install kit so it sat flush with the rest if the stock dash

I did this crappy photoshop on the fly so be nice...
If you had a plate made such that it covered the area around the deck as outlined in purple(or whatever) aswell as the cubby hole, it would look a bit more tied together. Maybe it would be too much metal look on the dash?
When I say cut the plastic so it would be flush, I ment cut the kit so that the new plate would sit over the kit and flush to the rest of the dash.
I hope that clears things up... if not Ill try again

EnthuZ, looks awesome. Where can I get one of those Z plates. I have a Pioneer Premier DEH-P8500MP (I think thats the model) My HU has the brushed aluminum look to it so I think it would look awesome with the aluminum plate.
